Yes, the iPhone 5 IS Apple’s best ever phone. Yes, it is a masterpiece of product design and engineering. And yes. You must buy it immediatly.

However… will you be able to to enjoy all of it’s features in Switzerland?

I’m very happy to report that Swiss users will have access to nearly ALL iOS 6 features (yes, this means local Siri intergration and turn by turn directions). Notable exeptions however, include: 3D Buildings for maps, Siri Restaurant Reservations,  Siri Movie Reviews, Siri Movie Showtimes and  iTunes TV Shows (To check what features are available in your country, visit Apple.com’s Feature list broken down by country)

LTE compatability seems to be a slightly more complicated subject. Switzerland is not listed on the list of countries offering LTE compatible networks at as of yet and Switzerland’s main Telecom provider, Swisscom, seems tight lipped:

    Hotline nichts.

Geht Facetime via 3G unter iOS 6?

    Danke,
